Nicholas Cage will make a terrible Joe Exotic

Aint no way he can do Joe's squirrely gay redneck accent with his deep dull voice, and he doesn't look anything like Joe and is taller than Joe, this series or movie they're making is gonna be a total fucking comedy/spoof and its gonna be awful.

Everyone and even Joe himself wanted David Spade to play him, and i could easily see that, Spade could totally pull off that small squirrely redneck gay persona in a believable way. But you put Nicholas Cage as him and the entire thing just becomes a fucking joke. I was hoping for some kind of seriousness with the series but seeing Nicholas Cage cast as him means its gonna be a flat out comedy/spoof.

Spade has no acting range. People bring him up because a character he played 2 decades ago looks like Joe.

Who gives a fuck about the voice?!

No Range? look at his character from Tommy Boy and look at Joe Dirt, if he had no range he could only play one of those characters successfully.

And who cares about the voice? lol Joe's voice is one of the most distinguishable things about him, if you cast someone who sounds nothing like him its gonna ruin in the whole thing imo and just make it come off as someone cos playing as Joe rather than actually being Joe.

Spade hasn't shown he can do more than play rednecks or sarcastic idiots. Cage is a award winning actor that dedicates to the role 100% and has been delivering good performances for decades. I know which actor I'd rather have in the role.

Go watch The Wicker Man remake, thats Nicholas Cage's acting, he's notorious for being a bad actor, thats like the draw of 90% of his movies just watching how bad and over the top he's gonna be.

And you say Spade can't do more than redneck and being sarcastic? aint that exactly how Joe is though? he's a smart ass sarcastic gay redneck.
