I thought it was one of the better remakes...

I really don't get the hate. Plus It's nothing like the original which is why i think I liked it.

I thought it was much better than the Friday the 13th remake.

Oh my gosh. Yes. I totally agree. I've been saying that for years since they came out. But a lot more people prefer the Friday The 13th remake. But I hated it. Nothing but sex and drugs. It was a total cop out. But the new Freddy was way freaky more so than Robert England in his Sequels. That was a plus.

"It was all about sex and drugs".

Which is what EVERY Friday the 13th movie is about....

This remake is awful, and should be erased from history. The original is miles better.

This movie is okay, but I'd never call it one of the better remake. Not even of the last ten years.

FRIDAY THE 13TH (2009) wasn't a real remake anyway.

Out of the biggest slasher remakes Nightmare would probably rank second for me, behind Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003. Definitely better than Halloween and F13. Not as good as Evil Dead 2013 or I Spit On Your Grave 2010 but for slashers, Nightmare was definitely one of the best remakes.

You need to stop thinking in terms of judging a movie as a remake.

It creates a lower expectation and grants production studios license to do a subpar job.

A movie is a movie. And A Nightmare On Elm Street 2010 is a mediocre, Red-Box grade movie.

Totally agreed! I enjoyed this film way more than the Friday the 13th and Halloween remakes. Ft13th remake was extremely generic, and Halloween was just boring and stupid. This film kept in tone with the others in having interesting and likable characters, a good score, scary dream sequences and didn't resort to sex and drugs. It was also a lot more atmospheric than the previous entries.

Of course it's nowhere close to the original.

It's one of those days...

No it's as bad as everyone says. Majority rules.
