I would rather watch this over the Halloween and Friday the 13th remakes

I was surprised it had the lowest rating out of the three.

I agree that NOEM is the best of the three. I actually think Halloween has a strong first half. Completely original and surprisingly interesting. The second half feels too much like a carbon copy of the 1978 film.

Halloween would be my second pick out of the three. I see your point although I suppose Zombie did that because he had two entirely different types of people to please, some who would welcome him putting his own spin on the story and some who would have preferred him to have stuck completely to the original. So the second half of the movie was appealing to that second group.

I thought giving Michael more of a backstory was interesting but I hate the...erm, trashiness of Zombie's movies. The way he depicted Michael's family was all too predictable and he in no way captured the essence of the original films, although I suppose it wasn't his intention to. I still can respect him doing his own thing though. As far as the second half goes yeah, I agree. And the original is far superior in that aspect as I loved the simplicity of it.

Yeah Rob Zombie seems to like having stereotypical white trash families. Some people like the fact that Michael comes from a broken family. Gives him a reason to be like he is. However I prefer the original with Michael coming from a some what perfect looking family possibly even a posh one. The apparently normal nextdoor neighbour being a murderer scares me more.

I have just watched the remake of nightmare on elm Street for the first time and haven't seen the original films in ages (seen all but new nightmare). The remake is far from the worst remake I have seen. Watched the day of the dead remake a few months ago and that was bad with everything changed to the point that it probably should have had a different name. I think people don't like someone else other than Robert englund being freddy and I agree no one can really replace him. I didn't mind the fact that freddy had more of a backstory and wonder if it would have worker and if the possible twist of him being original had turned out to be true.

For me while I can't remember a lot about the originals I remember them being really stylistic. I found the remake boring and as I've seen some point out the dark gritty nightmare world just being unimaginative. A nightmare can be very colourful just look at Dario Argento'sandman Suspiria.

I hated this the first time I saw it. But watching it now the second time I'm enjoying it. It is actually scaring me which is rare.

I loved the Haloween remake.

I actually really enjoy this movie, and I'm a huge Freddy fan. It really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I don't blaim most fans for disliking the movie, recasting Freddy and simply remaking NOES left a bad taste in many peoples mouth.

Fortunatly Jackie earle Haley is one of my favourite actors so the recast didn't bother me that much. Just wish this movie kept some of the dream sequences that were shot. If I recll there was supposed to be a dream involving Quinton, a church, and Freddy dressed like a monk. Some footage of it is on the special features on the bluray

I'll take the Halloween remake over both (though the Elm Street remake was better than the Friday one, imo).

"Godspeed, Spider-Man!"

I strongly but respectfully disagree to me the Halloween remake is the worst of the trio it has a few redeemable things like a halfway decent prequel half and some good cast members but as a overall film it's a insult to it's franchise that it's apart of and the audience. While I enjoy the Nightmare on Elm Street remake I think that the Friday the 13th remake is way better it has a better story and stronger characters.Still all three have certain things I like but I can't get behind the Halloween remake all the way,The Friday the 13th remake is great & Elm Street is fun.

I thought it was the best of the three, it stuck to the groundwork of the original and managed to bring something different to the mythos without being a bad change.

I would rather watch none of these movies.
