Film looked great but I didn’t like some of how the story was presented as opposed to the book/original film

I loved how they did the voice , I loved the hand signals. The baron looks great , all the visuals are amazing.

I didn’t not like how they introduce stilgar and the fremen, there really was no mystery to them. They just laid everything out .
The reason for the Jamis fight seemed dumb (the fight itself was great) why not leave it like in the book? I will watch it again but I hope the next film uses more from the novel because it really is epic, some of the story in the film is very underwhelming, not terrible, but when you have such good source material use it

I thought they did "the voice" better in the 1984 movie.

The hand signals were a good addition.

I agree with you on Stilgar ... and most of the characters, there was no dramatic flourish or framing of the different characters. I liked the way they did that in the original movie, laying out the main characters and what is going on with them.

I think this was a cut-rate budget effort to bring Dune to the screen. They did not have the weird baroque sets of the original film, which was one of the good things about it. It just seemed off to me.

I'd like to hear about what people who have not read the book or seen the first movie think about it.
