The Drawback of Woke-ness -- SPOILERS
I know it's a topic that creates heated arguments here, and I hope this thread doesn't devolve into that, but here's my opinion...
I'm all for diverse casting, and I don't care what race an actor is unless it's somehow contrary to the role. HOWEVER-- where the woke agenda/ diverse casting / modern left-wing politics / whatever you want to call it ruins films is very apparent in Glass Onion.
Within minutes of the movie starting, simply based on who directed the film and the cast that showed up, I knew that whatever happened, regardless of clues, hints, red herrings, whatever, the white male who wasn't the detective was going to be the killer/villain and the black woman would use her cunning and poise to thwart him. And, spoiler alert, that was exactly how it went down.
It ruined what would have otherwise been a fun whodunit, because the conclusion was predetermined. All that was left was to try to figure out how it went down, but an important element of the mystery was removed.
Again-- I have no problem with the casting, it's the implementation of the cast that is the problem.
