SHAUN OF THE DEAD for me!
Before I watched Zombieland, I thought I was going to like it more than Shaun of the Dead, just because I usually enjoy the straightforward American jokes better than the subtle, more classic British jokes. But I was wrong.
Zombieland was funny, but the romance plot definitely ruined it for me. Had they left the romance bits out of the plot, it would probably be a lot better than Shaun of the Dead.
There is no comparison, Shaun of the Dead is a masterpiece of comedy, one of the best ever in that genre. I'm spanish and I think that Zombieland is overrated because american people. Any movie of Edgar Wright is too much better than Zombieland. IMO Tucker & Dale vs Evil is better than Zombieland.

Liked Shaun. Loved Zombieland. Shaun didn't have Woody and Bill Murray in it.
shareBoth are excellent zombie horror-comedies so why pick? You can always watch them both. Someone else mentioned "The Return of the Living Dead," which is also a classic zombie horror-comedy. Check it out if you are not familiar with it. Make sure you watch the 1985 original and not one of the lame sequels. Starrring Clu Cluager, James Karen, Don Calfa and Linnea Quigley who does a memorable punk rock strip show in a graveyard.
