He uses German government film funds to get heavywieght investors to throw out enough money to buy big names of actors and video game titles. He probably makes his money back pretty quickly in foriegn release and on DVD. Seriously, even if you cared about your craft, wouldn't you take 2 million for two weeks of work on a project no one of consequence will see or at least judge you on? I would, and so would you. That's how Uwe gets to keep working.

i would know cause i have seen more boll movies than all of you,
if you dont believe me than prove me wrong and tell me which movies you have ACTUALLY seen
and alone in the dark IS better than silent hill and resident evil movies combined
in the name of the king might not be as good as the first and third lord of the rings movies

I consider all of this to be a joke. I thought the part about Alone in the Dark being better than Silent Hill was bad... I had to look it up to make sure it was the same Alone in the Dark I was thinking of (Yep, the one with Christian Slater). but then comparing a Boll movie to Lord of the Rings. ANY Lord of the Rings. I'm not even a major fan but come one, budget, acting, story, effects, etc... No comparison.
For what it is, Postal is actually quite good though. Easily the best one of his I've seen. Why, because it's all original. It's supposedly based off the game which is of course based off the popular mass murder. But his movie is a comedy that's bloody crazy, he even appears in it as himself. Not bad.

You're wrong, YOU don't want to see an Uwe Boll movie, but there are still enough people who love the 'crap' he makes.. It's not hollywood who let's him direct, he has his own production company and enough people are willing to pour money into his production.. And you know what, his movies actually make money.. Let's not forget a lot of people are voting low even when they haven't seen the movies at all, only because Uwe Boll made the movies..
His films aren't masterpieces, but they are very entertaining, and that's all I'm looking for these days as even big time directors like James cameron make big crap movies about blue boring people, yeah it might look great but the story isn't much better as any Uwe Boll movie. I'd rather watch 10 Uwe Boll movies than having to watch that unbelievable bad Avatar movie again..

yeah right Uwe Bols films have a low rating on the IMDB and i will agree that most of them deserve it but for a few of them people give a poor rating without even watching the film ...
Bloodrayne(the third reich) for instance has a 3/4 rating but i suspect most of the people who rated it didnt see it because if they had its rating would be much higher(5/6 poss) they just saw his name and like the sheep they are blindly voted away BAAaaaaaa baaaaa
I saw it and I saw Clint Howard in it and that performance was an embarrassment.
None of the actors were any good and the script was appalling but Clint Howard was by far the worst of the lot and he's this film's big name
