What was in that red book that Nova/Mae took?

Nova/Mae said she was looking for a book and then she took a small red one that was stuck in a shelf and gave it to her fellow human resistance but they never opened it. What was in the book?

reply

Do you mean the red SSD drive? The one she removed from the computer in the bunker... That they then plugged into their system alongside three other color-coded drives. The appearance is that they have a communications system that was locked in some way and required a fourth "key" to unlock it.

reply

SSD?

reply

Looks like it must be. Large. But, presumably it was heavily shielded and designed to hold it's data for a long time. Normal solid state storage devices are only supposed to be good for a few years if unpowered.

reply

Social Security Disability. Mae was trying to help get the muted humans benefits as well as any disabled ones in the bunker

reply

How old are you, grandpa?

reply

Solid State Drive.

reply

Never heard of a book called solid state drive but i will seek it out

reply

Oh fuck off you Troll.

reply

Lol just having a little laugh. Finally someone calls me out on it. Have a cookie! 🍪

reply

I don't think that was a solid state drive.

I think it was what is technically referred to as a McGuffin drive...

reply

Drive? How would they drive it if didn't have any wheels...?

Ok, I'll leave.

reply

Lmao

reply

It wasn’t a book. Thumb drive. The red thing she pulled from the computer. They needed it to activate the satellites and talk to other humans

reply

But she said she needed to get a book

reply

She just said that to Noah. She probably used that word choice because he wouldn’t understand what a flash drive is, and she had no time to explain. She also probably didn’t want to let him know of the satellites that her people would use to reach out to other humans

reply

It was some sort of hard drive or SSD, there was no better way to describe to the Apes, they barely understood the meaning of books. And she didn't lie, the "book" will allow humans to talk again, talk meaning long distance communication.

reply

This seemed to be a crypto key, which allowed the humans to get access to a satellite communication channel.

reply

So a book about crypto? Interesting...
