Look at the woman on the cover
I was like, of course, Disney strikes again.
shareGirls are icky!
shareIt is not about that and I think you are trolling.
Using female lead is a signal, that this is another agenda drive movie.
It is all about "the message".
And I am tired of propaganda movies.
How is having a female lead a signal? And what is the message?
shareIf you don't get "the message" after watching Marvel, Indy and Star wars in the past few years, I doubt I have the capability of making you understand it.
shareIs the message that women are capable of doing things? Because I agree with that message.
shareIf we are just talking about feminism, clearly it is about women are superior than men in every possible way, if Disney movies and TV shows are any guide.
And in Barbie we are presented with a perfect world of matriarchy.
That is what feminism seems to be all about these days.
I'll wait until I see the movie before I determine what the message is, if indeed there is. Just because it has a female lead doesn't necessarily mean it will have a message about women being superior.

I think the lead here is going to wind up being a descendant of Caesar, and just seeing a woman on the poster isn't enough to scare me.
shareI said it before and I say it again.
You haven't learned, have you?
From what Disney did to Marvel, Indy, Star wars, etc.
Feminism!!1! OOGA BOOGA!
Of course, feminism has nothing to do with why the Star Wars sequel trilogy failed or why recent Marvel movies have failed.
It is not about feminism specifically.
It is about using movies to push social agenda.
That is what is icky.
I just want to be entertained, is that too much to ask?
She is hot! I've no complaints about it. And Indy 5 was better than 4, Star Wars 7~9 was better than 1~3. Using women as leads has nothing to do with quality.
You are forgetting 'Terminator: Dark Fate', 'Tomb Raider 2018' and Daisy Ridley in the new star wars franchise.
The same type of woman here.
I think there is going to be some serious butt kicking of men triple the size of her.
I didn't forget Star Wars, I said: "Star Wars 7~9 was better than 1~3." Yes, 7~9 was bad, but 1~3 was worse. And Dark Fate was better than Genisys. New Tomb Raider? Old Tomb Raider was a success and led by a woman. When movies led by men fail, no one will use them as the reason why movies fail: Genisys, SW 1~3.
