Looking back, when did you first surmise that W13 was going down hill.

We felt we saw Cancellationland a few episodes into the Walter Sykes story line.

Sure, there was murder and mayhem with James and Helena, but with Walter the series took a dark turn.

Burning that female regent slowly to death was probably the low point for us.

And then to close season three with so many unanswered questions, thanks to really bad writing, just to plow right into the W13 destruction/Magellan's astrolabe story line and end IT with even more unanswered questions......the handwriting was on the wall.

We re-watched the premier episode last night just to refresh our memories of how good this show used to be. God, this series has sunk!

We will be sorry to see it go, but can't really blame SciFy this time, as much as we would like to for all the other good shows that the Scify dumb asses have cancelled!

So......

When did YOU know?

I liked Jinks..but his introduction to the show was when things started to tumble downwards..not so much him but maybe the addition of another agent wasn't so much..needed

I just finished season 4, I'd say late in season 3 it began going downhill. Once the whole "Save the World" plot and the Templar Brotherhood, etc. kicked in.

When the Warehouse was destroyed. I think that was some time during the Season 3 if I recall. It was an event that occurred way too early in the show.

You don't destroy the base of operations until the series needs a revamp and a new location. Usually signals the beginning of the end for the show.

The season when Artie became evil Artie. Too bad it was good up until then.

Second episode or so.

I have not read the whole thread, but I think there is always a problem with a series when the stories all seem to revolve around the central characters (fine in a soap, but not in other progs!). There was an English police programme called The Bill, which was half-soap set in a police station, but people used to say that if it wasn't for the police station, there would be no need for the police - all of the crime was caused/involved them. This is what started to happen with W13. Suddenly, all of the artifacts were affecting the protagonists and the Warehouse, and there was insufficient artifact chasing. They almost got it back in the last season, and the finale (which I watched just today) was quite moving, but the joy of the programme was the agents going out investigating what the problem was and how to neutralise the artifact. Losing that meant it lost its way.

What the frak are you talking about? Warehouse 13 never went downhill. In fact, as sad as I am that the plug got pulled too-early, I did tell my wife that the upside was that the series would now be able to go out in it's Prime unlike so many other shows (cough*XFiles*couch)
