Most smoking in a modern movie?

Is this the most smoking in a modern movie? What about including older films? There sure was a lot of smoking by many characters throughout the film.

Any other newer movies that have this much smoking? I remember colin farrell unsuccessfully tried to get his penguin character to smoke in the batman movie but there seems to be no restrictions when it comes to Joker: Folie À Deux!

It's set in the 80s when smoking was more common.

The most smoking in an older film is probably the French film Breathless (1960). Characters in that are smoking cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, and the main character never stops smoking. Always using the butt of his cigarette to light a new one. And because French New Wave films used natural lighting and Jean-Luc Godard liked long takes, it make the smoke really stand out on the screen.

Even to this day, French films still have more more smoking than most others.

Thanks for that!

Haven't seen that film in ages and may check it out again. You are definitely right about the amount of smoking in that film. I wonder how those actors faired health-wise later in life

Fritz Lang's M is up there too from what I can remember. Smoke in every frame.

I think it was in the early 80s that the producers stopped James Bond from smoking cigarettes in the movies? I remember him smoking cigars afterwards though.
