This movie is a perfect allegory for modern society
A black woman thinks she is automatically entitled to anything she wants and a white man is evil for being responsible and thinking of the societal implications.

shareTHIS THREAD IS THE PERFECT ALLEGORY FOR MODERN SOCIETY...MANBABIES BITCHING ABOUT NOTHINGNESS.
shareWhere does she say she is entitled to anything? She said that the wishes are belonging to the people. Meanwhile the white dude had once good intentions, but got corrupt and tries everything in his power to protect what he has created, even when his intentions gets totally perverted by it.
It is the basic power corrupts trope, which is likely true for at least of 99% of human mankind.

She never claims it for herself, she claim only to get her grandpas wish granted as he became 100 years old. He just want to play music and white dude becomes super paranoid and directly thing the grand pa would directly sing about how bad life is and starts a revolt. If it had been hers (you forget your wishes after you give it to the king) or her friends one, yes, I can see potential, but who fears 100 year old grand pas is definitely paranoid. And then he kicks her out and threaten her that her family's wishes never get granted at all. That was before anything goes down, the king was up to there basically her star. That's why she started the revolution, to free her family's wishes. So hybris, corruption and paranoia started all.
shareBut the king does not owe them anything. Granting wishes is more like a favour.
It sounds more like she became entitled, like OP said.
