The big action climax wasn't necessary.

I don't care how trained Terry was, but running around throwing smoke grenades and other less lethal devices and somehow rendering a dozen cop just a few yards away incapable of hitting him was ridiculous. He was even able to climb into a car, drive it around back to his grenade bag to throw more while the cops were still confused. Come on...

After the Chief shoots Roy in the leg, Sims and the "good" cops could have turned on him without the big action scene and car chase. It would still have been fine ending and far more believable.

Even First Blood made more sense because Rambo took on the cops one by one.

Jeremy Saulnier should dial down and keep his stories gritty and realistic, like Blue Ruin.

In that fight and also the previous one... his moves were very slow and didn't transition smoothly at all.

Yeah him using all non-lethals while being shot at with live ammunition because he was 'more moral' kinda had me rolling my eyes at that point and was corny/cringy
