I'm a big fan of Jeremy Saulnier. Blue Ruin was great and I absolutely loved Green Room. Hold the Dark was a disappointment, but Rebel Ridge might be his best movie yet.

He is a master at building tension, you could feel how things were about to blow up in Rebel Ridge. Great thriller with great acting, especially from Aaron Pierre and Don Johnson. 8/10

I just read that he was supposed to originally be the lead. I quite like him, but I guess things worked out for the best because Aaron Pierre was great in the role.

John an ok actor, but not a big guy , but Kiefer Sutherland and Tom Cruise pull off action being average to small , so who knows if he could pull it off

Yeah, I'm not sure if he would have been as convincing as an ex-marine as Aaron Pierre.

I don't think I've seen this Pierre guy in anything before this, so I could totally buy him as the character.

I don’t know this Pierre guy either but I dig him.

I bet he becomes a big star soon, he’s got ‘it.’

Great villain role by Don Johnson and Aaron Pierre is going to be a superstar.

Oh yeah, I follow the guy and have seen most of his stuff. He’s really good.
