'Altered States', 1980. Has many scenes of tripping out, all of them better than the one in this film.
sharePerhaps Altered States is more in your face and arguably more interesting but by no means more accurate. Don't get me wrong i love altered states and Ken Russel always keeps things visually compelling but the nuances displayed in the tripping scene in taking woodstock are by far the best i have seen in film.

There is a memorable 'acid trip scene in "Hair". And a more generic one in that Jennifer Aniston - Paul Rudd movie where they give communal life a try. The title escapes me right now, for some reason.
