Neither. They are both cute and funny in roles where they are meant to be just that.
shareMcAdams's characters was supposed to be like that - not overacting at all! There was a reason why people ask her "are you going to sing?" It's her character!

The difference between the two is that Rachel McAdams actually comes across as genuine where as Heigel comes across as a bitch trying to play the part of the quirky nice girl.
shareI do agree that Katherine Heigl seems to be bitchy but pretending to be nice, sweet woman..Also I heard an interview with Katherine on the radio and she sounded like my grandma (ahem..who has smoked for the last 50+ years)

"Flatly My Dear, I Don't Riverdance"
The character was the supposed to be over-the-top, and wacky.So Rachel didn't over act at all, but nailed the character. I thought she gave a great performance and was also very likable. Katherine tries to be charming but it comes across as phony or bitchy, because she tries too hard and isn't very good at comedy. It's Katherine Heigl by the way not Heigel

Heigel. As much as I've liked her in some things, there were episodes of Grey's Anatomy when I just wanted to pull my hair out!
I think Rachel McAdams is a great actress. Don't get the comparison at all.

I don't know who's the queen of overacting, but Rachel McAdams was absolutely unbearable in this film whereas Katherine Heigl, who's unbearable in real life BTW, is generally a pleasant presence in these types of films (even though said films are the exact same all the time).
Drop it like it's legal precedent!
I absolutely agree with Happy Evil Dude, I wasn't a fan of Rachel's in this movie (other movies she's okay) but I am actually impressed with Katherine's acting. I saw Knocked Up and was impressed with her facial expressions. I even told that to my boyfriend. Don't watch Grey's Anatomy so I don't know how she acts on that show.
shareUgh Katerine Heigel. She always comes across as unpleasant and annoyed both on screen and off. Rachel McAdams always comes across as bubbly though, I really like her.
