Harrison Ford's acting
Although I always enjoyed him in the Indiana Jones movies, I find him to be rather wooden in most of his other roles, including this one. He was so one-dimensional here - playing another ill-humored grouch.

shareI dunno if this is a comment on Fords acting or just the script but his character, or the way Harrison Ford played him, was so ridiculously boring and monotone, who in there right mind would get him to host a morning news show let alone a real news show...
In real life (Ford) also seems like an overly serious boring grouch, but I don't know that much about him.
Though I can't dislike Harrison Ford because he's been in so many movies I enjoy and love, I haven't seen him in a good movie in awhile...
I liked Mcadams character.. she was bubbly, positive and ambitious. McAdams seems the same way in real life. She carried her lead role quite well, she's a breath of fresh air, I relate to her character.
shareI kind of disagree. This was the first film since The Fugitive (1993!!) that Harrison Ford really held me captivated and laughing out loud. His character was not cornball, it was touching and realistic. and while I'm glad they didn't have it in the movie, I'm going to pretend that his character ended up going on a few dates with Diane Keaton's character. Lord knows his character could do with a sex life.
Ford basically took his Cowboy & Aliens persona (and voice) and made it lonely and bitter instead of simply angry.
I think he was brilliant in Morning Glory and I think he was rather one dimensional in Indiana Jones
shareHe looks very bored here – and who can blame him? This is a one-note role with the inevitable redemption at the end.
shareI thought he did a great job here, especially during the bench scene after his breaking news about the governor.
shareI have to agree with the OP. Though I love Harrison and have never found him wooden in anything, he overplayed the grouchiness. He's always had a low, sexy voice, but here he just growled all his lines and never varied the sneer on his face. Maybe he realized it was a crap movie and didn't feel like putting in the effort.

Harrison ruined this bad as it is movie. Simple as that.
