Did anyone else think the boxing match scene was way too long and drawn out?

Yes, the director was trying to reproduce the boxing sequence from "Raging Bull," I think.
One thing that annoyed me was a continuity goof: the boxers' mouthpieces kept disappearing and reappearing from one shot to the next.

Punching sound effects were same as used in Rocky III in fights with Clubber Lang.

The scene was the most unrealistic in all the movie. That fight would have been stopped earlier.
