do you think Dewey and Judy

Ever hooked up after Dewey left Gale and came home? I can see there being a night toward the beginning of his downward spiral, where he's drunk, and she doesn't realize at first how depressed he really is, so they hook up once for the sake of fantasy fulfillment, bonus points if she mentions Sam is watching Wes that night, and then they never hook up again because she realizes that she'd never really be enough for him and he would become toxic for her to be around. But I think they still kept in touch, like maybe every few weeks she'd check in just to make sure he'd recently showered and eaten a vegetable.

I never really thought about that. It is possible.

What I noticed was the absence of fathers in this film. Seems like Judy and her son lived alone. No dad around

The Meeks twins lived with their mom and didn’t seem to have a father figure nearby.

Sam’s dad, of course, left a long time ago. He had a right to be angry with his wife for lying to him. But why abandon his daughters so completely?

Maybe Wes was Dewey's, and we saw a whole family annihilated.

As for the twins, meh. There was one scene at their house, totally believable their dad was just in another room.

It is possible that the twins had a dad in the next room. But he surely was even less interested than their mom Martha. I mean, Martha lost a brother. She lived through many ghost face killings, yet she says hi to Dewey, serves a tray of refreshments and leaves the room!

Don’t get me wrong, Scream is my favorite horror franchise. But the parenting in that town leaves a lot to be desired. The town issued a curfew, school was closed, but the teens gathered for an alcohol fueled party at Stu Macher’s home without a parent in sight.

In Scream 4, they hang out at Kirby’s house and again, no parents.

If I lived in that town and had a teen-ager, the kid would be handcuffed to my wrist and not hanging out with friends unsupervised. But that would not have made for an interesting movie..

The parents of Woodsboro were the most unconcerned parents ever.
