For his prejudiced remarks & attitude towards Adam. It was uncalled for & showed a lack of breeding on his part. Calling the man a mongrel. What’s it to him that he claimed Sea Smoke? Did he know that the dragon sought him out rather than the other way around? If it chose him as its rider then that should be enough.

After all he was only raised with Lord Corlyss & his children who are even blood relations to him. You think he wouldn’t have felt that way but unfortunately he did. At least judge the man on his character, not what you think of him or believe him to be.

If Corlyss ever finds out how he feels then he may look at Jace differently from now on. Is he going to give the poor guy grief now? Hope not.

He was worried that since he himself was a "mongrel" and the only thing he had was being a dragon rider, if just any old person off the street can get on a dragon then what does he have left to make him legit?

Pretty much this. Star Wars took it all the way, now anyone can be a Jedi, which contradicts the whole “force sensitive” thing and makes the Jedi no longer special.

At least in HotD, the characters still need the ancestry to ride dragons, for now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if eventually they completely break lore and let anyone ride dragons.

Poor Jace knows he is not the son of noble Velaryon lord. And is the son of some guy his mommy had affair with. Making him kinda like bastard.

Which is just stupid since he is half-targarien no matter what. He has their blood and dragons recognize that.

His concern about hair color is ridiculous in that matter that does he know he could be black and biracial if he would be real son of his mommies husband? But it's the hair he is concerned about lol.

I assume show just pretends that Velaryons are not actually black and are white like everyone else. Since no one in concerned being black. But Jace is concerned having dark hair and not being "full 100% Targarien with blonde hair" like his other siblings.

And yes - this is what Jace would feel toward that Lord Corlyss bastard children. This is realistic behavior.

He owns them nothing.

Look no further then bastard son of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold recognized him and accepted as his son and has great relationship with him and hangs out and loves him. But Joseph Baena has no relationship with Arnolds legitimate children. I think it was mentioned sometimes. They don't hang out and there are no pictures of them together.

Because for them he is the son of their father mistress and they don't own him anything. They are legitimate and he is product of infidelity and they don't feel like they have to hang out with him.

Schwarzenegger and his son “are very close,” a source who knows the actor said.

“But, to be honest, the other kids don’t love Joe. It’s a shame as he’s a really good kid, and Arnold has always treated him like all his other kids — very fairly. But for whatever reason, the other kids take [the affair] out on Joe.”

The source said that Baena is snubbed by his half-siblings, adding, “It’s not fair, but I guess it’s understandable — he’s the product of something that should not have occurred.”
