Season 2 episode 4 renewed my love for television

Yeah it's terrible.
Right of the bat, because they rushed and ruined the end of Game of Thrones, it's hard to take this show seriously. It's infuriating George R.R. Martin worked on this material while he never finished A Song of Ice and Fire.
The show has better special effects and costumes than Game of Thrones, but the characters are mostly uninteresting and the story is weak. It feels like a watered down version of Game of Throne. Alicent is Cersei, , Criston is Jaime, Aegon is Joffrey, Rhaenyra is Daenerys, Larys is Varys/Petyr Baelish, Harrold Westerling is Barristan Selmy...we've seen this before.
Dragons are fun in theory, but in practice it's a dead end. They make all armies and soldiers completely irrelevant as they can't do anything against them. The only logical military tactic would be for a faction to ride all their dragons at once against the other and whoever still has living dragons after the battle wins. That wouldn't make a good show, so they have to come up with silly ideas like sending Princess Grandma riding alone to war.
>Alicent is Cersei
No. They're not that alike.
>Criston is Jaime
Criston behaves very differently to Jaime. The only similarity is "Is a member of the Kingsguard."
>Aegon is Joffrey
Not remotely. Aegon is very different.
>Rhaenyra is Daenerys
Rhaenyra is much more like her father, Viserys.
>Larys is Varys/Petyr Baelish
I can agree there.
I had to stop watching. For me the main problem is the D.E.I Valyrians. I just can't get past it. Every time they are on screen it takes me out of the story and ruins the show for me. I have to fast forward through their scenes. I tried to endure as much as I could, but the show is just boring, and there is not enough good to justify putting up with the D.E.I stuff. If there was no D.E.I, I would muddle through it, but after seeing the colored girl ride a dragon in 2x03, I peaced out. I'm done.
TL:DR
D.E.I and boring = Not interested.
The Velaryons casting is the strangest thing, it really messed up one of the first season's big plot points, the parentage of Rhaenyra's sons. The Velaryons were the last family they should have token'd up.
