9.1. on imdb
Alright, everybody.....who flooded imdb with a 10.0 before even watching it?
shareYeah, it's not a 9+ but the first episode was pretty solid.
shareIf I may use quarter-points, I'd say it's a 7.75. Perhaps even an 8/10. Not perfection, but it's a good and promising opener.
share6/10 from me.
C'mon man, it's better than that. It was skillfully made television and certainly better than only slightly above average.
shareNo it isn't. It looks dim and grimy. The story telling is perfunctory and cliched. The cast is for the most part bland and uninteresting as are the characters they are playing, again for the most part.
A test for me is whether I want to rewatch the episode after I've seen it the first time and I have no desire to do that with this one.
I gave it 6/10 because it is an expensive production. It has costumes and armour (and dragons) where you can see the quality. The story though a familiar one can be worth watching if it's well done. I also liked Milly Alcock, Paddy Considine and Rhys Ifans performances.
For me a 5/10 might still be worth watching because it is half good you might say. Even with the best GOT episodes ( and some of them were very good ) I would only give them 9/10 because 10/10 to my mind is perfection and perfection is only rarely if ever achieved. So my scoring system probably has a lower starting point than that which other people might use.
I would give it a 7/10. It starts kind of boring, then gets interesting, then boring. Some of the scenes are so dark my eyes hurts. It really felt like GoT, just with different things which is a good thing. Hope it gets better and better as they said that.
shareIf it was a movie yeah, maybe 6.5 from me.
But for some reasons the shows get higher ratings so to keep it in line with other shows I would go for at least 7.5
The first ratings are often done by the people involved with the show. Season 1 will probably settle around the high 8's.
