Woke

shareHonestly this show is going to have a lot of similar looking characters with Valyrian blood and silver hair. As a casual viewer I am kind of glad they made that one character (and his kids?) black, it just makes it less confusing for me.
shareThat's a really lame excuse for blackwashing. If you want to support Wokery you'll have to do better than that.
The main instance of Wokery that stood out to me in the first episode was the birthing scene. They tried to spin the situation as " Oh look what the cruel system does to women ! It kills them brutally for the sake of an heir ! "
Of course they couldn't present it as just one of those tragic things that happens sometimes. Or give the woman agency by having the Maester tell her that the birth had gone wrong and it looked like both her and the baby would die but there was a chance the baby could be saved by cutting it out and leaving the choice to her. Then they wouldn't have been monsters and she would have been brave if she had agreed. But no we can't have that when there is a blow to be struck against the patriarchy ! So it was slice her open while she's conscious and screaming hysterically ! Low propaganda done in the Woke style.
I haven't read the book so just wondering is that scene in the book? Or is it something they added for the show? Maybe the scene is in the book just a bit different?
shareThat would have been better.
You know, it occurrs to me, that from what we have learned in the show, that if the Dream of the founder of hte dynasty is to be believed, ie that one of their house has to be on the throne or the "World of Man will end,
then the women of hte House, NOT producing the next generation, and going off to be cool dragon riders and rules, ect, ect. ect.
is the height of irresponsibility and selfishness and could very well lead to the End of hte World.

The world will become a much better place when people stop using this meaningless word.
