Superman & Lois still NOT 'woke', but the Snyderverse DEFINITELY is!

I just got done streaming episode 5 of Superman & Lois for FREE (yes, FREE, take that, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, CBS All Access, etc.) on CW's website.

People whine about the typical "teen angst" stuff in CW shows. The first four episodes did have a bit of jarring switch back and forth between "mopey teen drama scenes" and "action-packed badass superhero scenes", but episode 5 really blended the two much more organically. Both the "Harvest Fest" drama stuff (RIP Martha Kent!) and action superhero scenes (Jordan goes undercover to confront baddies and uses his superpowers!) were top notch stuff. 9/10. Superman and Lois is truly "The Orville" of DC comics (faithful to the spirit of the original vision we know and love), while the Snyderverse is the "Star Trek Discovery" (cynical, ugly, nihilistic, shallow garbage).

Speaking of Snyderverse, while the Snyderites still try to baselessly smear Superman and Lois by "judging" in advance that it will "go woke" and "warning" everyone to avoid it based on that (since they can't bash the show based on its current merits), I've been thinking about the Snyderverse in comparison. If you read up on the recent Snyderverse movies, you will recall that THE SNYDERVERSE HAS ALREADY GONE WOKE.

Yes, the Snyderites are currently all over the internet desperately trying to spread propaganda to "restore the Snyderverse" next. As much as I WISH the Snyderverse was dead and buried (and thought it would be after Henry Cavill AND Ben Affleck both moved on, and WB decided to focus on "stand alone stories" like the "Joker origin movie" with Joaquin Phoenix), the reality is the Snyderverse is still alive and well, and they continue to inflict more crap on audiences regularly.

The Snyderverse showed signs of being "woke" from DAY ONE, when they cast Laurence Fishburne as Perry White (which the Snyderites defended tooth-and-nail at the time, and called you racist if you pointed out the obvious fact that Fishburne is nothing like the comic book source material character). However, the two most recent Snyderverse films, Birds of Prey (2019) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) are BOTH full bore SJW propaganda, and audiences reacted accordingly to that crap: Birds of Prey was marketed exclusives to females as an anti-misogynist feminist SJW movie. There is not really anything redeeming in the flick for the male audience, as the movie constantly puts down males and makes them out to be the bad guys. Wonder Woman 1984 tried to inject modern politics into a film set in the mid 1980s, and was a tired old "Orange Man Bad!" tirade, with a thinly veiled Trump clone as the movie's villain.

What Snyderites mean by "restore the Snyderverse" is the crybabies want a Man of Steel 2, which is never going to happen because Man of Steel 1 sucked and underperformed. At the time, desperate to absolve Nolan/Snyder/Goyer of blame, they tried to pin the film's mediocre response to "gosh, I guess the CHARACTER of Superman just isn't POPULAR with audiences anymore. Too bad! Good thing they're bringing in BATMAN. Audiences LOVE Batman!" propaganda.

Of course Superman is still "popular" with audiences (as Superman & Lois is PROVING right now!) It's just Nolan's super bland and humorless "grounded" universe, Snyder's gritty depressing destruction porn, and Goyer's plot hole filled script with piss poor dialogue and a lame recycled storyline WASN'T popular. The Snyderites would have a lot more credibility now if they could finally ADMIT this painful fact after EIGHT YEARS of lying about it.

So be careful, Snyderites. You can try to smear Superman and Lois all you want by claiming it will "go woke", but its probably a bad idea to throw stones in your glass house. People will be reminded just how sucky and SJW-infested your Snyderverse is. :-)
