If more kids could see the obvious flaws in recent Disney movies and TV shows, they wouldn't be so damn successful, and Disney would want to put more effort into them to attract more viewers. Sadly, it's not about effort anymore, it's all about making money and keeping the uncritical fan bases.
@MomOfThree Frankly, you're a moron. This thread is NOT about smutty television and the godlessness of mainstream media, it is about Generation Y being served dog food and being told it's filet mignon. ________________________________________ Made it, Ma! TOP OF THE WORLD!
You have to remember that most people here agree the programs are crap but there a lot of times where disney crap is less crap than other crap so when I've been babysitting or whatever we've ended up watching HOURS of Suite Life, Raven, Sonny etc. I don't care because they're not my kids and their parents are cool with them monging out in front of the tv all night (score for the babysitter) but I know with my parents they'd make me go read a book or something. I used to get soooo annoyed I wasn't allowed to watch the Flintsones or Jetsons when I was young, not because of any imagined sexual references but because my parents thought it was rubbish and made me read/play outside. When I was older and got round to watching it...don't feel like I missed out on much.
To conclude: it's not enough to know it's crap. Lots of critical kids end up watching it because they sit down with the attitude of "I have three hours to kill" rather than "I want to watch some good TV".
Yes. The roadkill they play on TV is just horrible.. DC is just the worst. and mtv/vh1. The crap that disney makes makes me feel like my children are going to be deprived of intelligence.(Since TV just shines with intellect anyways). But still, DC pisses me off with the shows, no actually crap they play.
My kids got into the whole Disney Channel & Nick thing around the time of "Lizzie McGuire" & "The Amanda Show". Those were much better overall shows than what's on Disney now. (I'm not even sure WHAT's on Nick these days... I-Carly, maybe?)
"Hannah..." is probably one of the better shows on Disney at present. Gotta go with "...Zack & Cody" on the worst - and that's only because I've yet to summon the courage to weather either "Wizards..." or "Sonny..."
Hi! I just wanted to say thanks for reminding me- Disney CAN be wonderful and magical! I havent seen this movie (and i hope i never will), but for me, Disney is part of my childhood and growing up.
I was just writing in another thread- what do you expect- its a kids movie! But ill stop doing that, and hope that maybe Disney will raise theyr standards to what they used to be.
I remember watching Alladin in the movietheater when it came out in my country and it was so amazing.. And lion king. I watch that every couple of years even if im too old for it, but i just think its so great and i cry everytime.. hehe..
What memories "Can you feel the love tonight".. I dont know any of the songs from this movie, but im guessing from your comments it cant compare with the "real" Disney songs..

Opinion is subjective a fact that your intelligence does not seem to grasp, i remember growing up watching cartoons thinking they were great and now when i see them i think why on earth did i watch that, if they think kids will like it then Disney will produce it. and to the people accusing disney of dumbing kids down, disney are not to blame for this parents are. So believe you all need to remove the chips from your shoulders and focus you attention on real problems that exist in this world
Yeah, if it weren't about money-making, this movie could have never been made. I liked the show and I thought it was good enough as it was, but stupid Disney had to follow it up with this crappy movie
Yeah, but disney seems to be mainstream conservative. Just brainwashing kids into a social conformity that IS Disney. Think about the actions and personalities and moral stories of their products. I'm not one to analyze and criticize, but I wish there was a children's channel or company that wasn't in it JUST for the money.
