the ring on the black guy?

what did it mean?

the lady with the boy asks the black guy if he has a plan, and she hints the ring on his finger, and says her husband had one too

was the black guy a wrestler, fighter?

reply

My guess is he used to be a military branch of some sort. Cause if you noitced he had no problem sacraficing(sp?) himself for that lady and her son. That'd be my best guess.

It said "Airborne" he was most likely a paratrooper.

ATTENTION ADVERTISERS! YOU TOO, CAN REACH THIS PRIME DEMOGRAPHIC!!!

reply

nice. I remember him somewhere but can't recall, until u said marlo. I love "the wire", one of the best tv shows.

don't listen to critics. say no to rankings.

reply

Obviously you don't know what you're talking about.

101st is the Screaming Eagles.

82nd is All American.

It was an eagle not an AA symbol.

Don't mean to be rude, but 'obviously' is pretty obnoxious, especially when you're wrong.

reply

It looked like a 101st Airborne ring, with their screaming eagle insignia.

reply

You're right it was US Army 101st Airborne Division ring - by his age, probably post-Vietnam.

reply

...a wrestler...

reply

His ring indicated that he had been in the "Airborne" division of the Army, as was the woman's deceased husband.
Which was why she asked him if he had a plan.

Well his plan worked for her. But it definitely was *beep* up for him.

reply

lol that woman was lying about her husband having the same ring. If you noticed she didn't have a problem with the black guy dying instead of her.

If she told me that BS, I would have asked her which airborne division, etc which would give away the lie.

reply

I don't make a habit of looking at guy's rings.
huh-huh

He was ex-Airborne?

...now I do it just to watch their f----n' expression change.

reply

The camera zoomed in on it. You didn't realy need to 'look' for it.

As others have said, it was a Screaming Eagles, 101'st Airborne Army Ring

reply

Yeah, it was good to see him in this. Love him in The Wire. I'm in the middle of season 4.

Chris would've killed Travolta and co. and taken the money.

reply

The scene where he gets killed is ridiculous, why in the hell would anyone asked to get killed like that? He had no guarantee that the woman would live as well. A stupid sacrifice...

reply

True. Plus he was pretty sure at least he would die, so he could've done something to try and stop it.

He kind of echoed Stringer's last words a little bit, too. "Well? Get on with it mutha fu-" {BLAP BLAP BLAP}
