Poster looks like that of a horror movie
Well, it's got Nic Cage in it, in his dwindling career, so it most likely WILL be a horror movie, in terms of anything other than scares.

I think this movie looks good.
shareI need to check out the trailer. It sounds interesting.
Also, I don't think his career is dwindling that badly. He has some genuinely great films in the latter half of his career, especially Colors out of Space, Willy's Wonderland, and one of my all-time favorites, Mandy.
If you haven't seen Mandy, you absolutely need to watch that film.
I liked Willy's wonderland for what it was. It's just did my head in it bit with the unexplained actions cages character seemed to religiously adhere to.
shareIf you look at it from the perspective of following the tropes of an action-horror game it makes sense.
Cage regularly has to drink his power-up drinks to stay charged up.
He's a silent protagonist.
As the hero he's the only one who can withstand the attacks of the villains.
Within that context it seemed to make sense to me.
Yeah I guess. I was just hoping for an explanation or maybe a twist or something. I didn't hate it, I just thought it could have been better if they at least tried to address the whole soda pop pinball thing.
Was cool to see Cage in a role without any dialogue though. Maybe he charges extra for speaking roles lol.

That's cool. Man I just love Nicholas cage. He still has some future classics he's yet to make. A lot of wasted potential recently I guess. But I kinda respect the way he operates, he gives it 110% and helps out indie up and coming filmmakers.
shareSet in Portland, so yeah. Apocalyptic horror most likely.
shareIs that a sick burn on Portland? I'm from Australia so I'm kinda nieve.
shareThis is what Portland, Oregon has looked like practically every night for the past year, so yeah. Sick but accurate burn.

Shit. I was picturing a sleepy little city. Looks like shit be popping off. Civil unrest, I mean shit like that don't happen for no reason. I guess you cant keep the little guy oppressed for ever. I have no idea what it's all about, so I'm kinda taking out my arse.
shareThey claim to be fighting for social justice, etc. but they're just a bunch of spoiled upper-middle class kids slumming with street people and drug addicts who enjoy the thrill of being anarchists and setting fires. No real goals, no real organization, just chaos and rioting. Portland needs a National Guard enema ASAP to clean out its intestinal blockage.
shareAgain, I have no real idea what's happening, but I'm sure the unrest stems from a real issue that needs addressing. And I agree that eventually the bulk of the people causing shit will be people just looking for chaos. But instead of just being angry and reactionary, we probably need to try fix some shit. If peaceful protests worked, I'm yet to see it. The harsh truth is, if you want shit to change you have stand up and fucken make it happen. Yeah the national guard can come in and destroy those cunts, but in the end, that would make it worse. Either they will rally again even stronger or worse, be so scared and oppressed they will never rally for anything ever again.

I don't agree with defunding the police, that's ridiculous. What they need to do though is reprioritize. Focus more on real crimes, crimes the public are actually outraged by. Locking up people for piss ant shit like drugs or shoplifting or unpaid fines is totalitarian. We are prisoners of society. You can't throw a rock without hitting an overpaid bureaucrat. Downsizing all the pointless red tape and redirecting funds is the answer. How to implement that , I have no idea. I can wax intellectual till the cows come home, but really I'm as clueless as the next guy. I just know that the path were on is wrong, but everybody's too consumed with their own needs to come together. Divide and conquer seems to be the status quo at the moment.

I thought it was the Hannibal poster at first
shareIt's not much of a thriller, let alone horror. It's yet another of Cage's 'modern' silent and gruffy type of roles (although less violent)
