why would you go to high school for all of eternity?

This has to be the dumbest part of the movie. High School would seriously get old fast.

So, you were 17 when you became a vampire. Just get a job at subway, when someone says, man you look kind of young shouldn't you be in high school. You laugh and say no, I graduated last may.

End of story. I graduated with a kid that looked like he was 12, he joined the Army after high school. It could easily be pulled off.

If you're writing a young adult novel- high school is practically the ideal setting for it. Most of your readers are going to be in high school themselves and they will be able to relate readily to the setting and characters.

Makes complete sense to me why an author would set the story there. It's one of the most important rules of writing- know your audience/readers.
