shareSupposedly contractually if a Universal film fails to open at $50 million they can release it on VOD after 17 days.
So this is good news. Hopefully it's a case like The Black Phone where it goes to VOD in under 3 weeks.
EDIT: Deadline believe it'll have a 31 day theatrical window.
For those movies opening under $50M, Uni typically sends them to PVOD after 17 days, followed by Peacock thereafter. However, on Nope, I understand it’s PVOD post 31 days
I haven't paid much attention to this film so when I saw it opened at 44 mil I thought that was good. But apparently this was below expectations and the B cinemascore is not ideal for a strong second weekend.
