Wish we could have the original comics Kang instead of the alternate universe one.

Kang in the original comics is an arrogant unsympathetic conquorer from the future who is related to Dr. Doom and uses time travel to conqour all timelines. Instead they are using this newer alternate universe Kang from newer comics who is more sympathetic.

I'll wait and see what he's like in the film. We learned in Loki that there are numerous Kangs, and perhaps they're holding back on who or what Kang is like in the MCU, or which Kang will be the primary antagonist.

In the comics, Kang is related to Reed Richards. He figured out how to master Dr. Doom's technology.

His background wasn't that important to the character. As long as he's a time traveler that has a mastery of technology then that is all you need.
