Anyone else think this was the FUNNIEST FRIKKIN' MOVIE of the year?

And that it made The Hangover seem like a half-empty bottle of Boone's Farm?

yes it was the funniest movie of the year. and my fav. I don't know if it was the best film of the year from a critical point of view. It's kind of like the best, bad movie ever made. I loved it.

I lmao so much through this movie. so many quotes, "a man without a gun is not a man". wtf was that all about?

"Whadda you do for a living, sell shoes? Cooka-yayah-o!"

reply

Well I did catch myself laughing...a lot.

reply

Yea, it was quite a story. . . a little on the DARK side, but I did chuckle from time to time at Cage's outrageous behavior.

Like you, I couldn't watch it.

reply

Unlike you I was howling with laughter at the iguanas and the dialogue in between about whether they were real or not and the harmonica music AAHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH this filmwas genius hahahahahahahah

reply

The scene with him and the two senior citizens was hilarious. I couldn't believe the absurdity of it haha.

I just got my Ass Kicked by Hit-Girl.

reply

i agree, i also found the whole old lads part hilarious. it was SO wrong.

reply

Cage's performance was so twisted it's hard not to laugh. Great movie, particularly great performance (although I thought that speech impediment came on way too quickly and suddenly)

reply

i did in fact find myself laughing, not in the ha-ha funny way. know what i mean?

cage obviosly knows comedy. I would love to know how many stupid people loved the hangover?. I hated it and it was supposed to be comedy. Ben Stiller knows comedy, simon pegg knows comedy. seth rogan doesnt know comedy.

I don't like when people think cage and herzog didn't do it in purpose, Herzog I'm almost sure even says in the making of he wanted it funny.

reply

Totally agree. This film was very funny and very enjoyable. I look forward to watching it again on DVD... hopefully there's a DC with 10 extra minutes of Iguanas (I liked it when he slapped one of them)

best movie of the year. though herzog's other of last year: my son my son, what have ye done, was also excellent. maybe a better movie through and through, but this was easily the funniest. such a relief from every movie being "star fast, trek furious"

I need to check this out, mostly because Nicolas Cage is the worst actor on the big screen today and it's great fun watching him somehow find new ways to act even worse than his last movie.

Other bad actors are like witnessing a fender bender on your morning commute. Even when you're not involved in it, all it does is waste everyone elses time as it slows everyone up and all you get is irritated.

Nicolas Cage on the other hand is like witnessing a train wreck on your morning commute. You aren't concerned with the lost time since you've just witnessed something so completely horrible that it takes several days just to realize that yes, you really did see something that horrible.
