Repeating Spiderman 3's mistakes?
Wasn't SM3 criticized for having too many villains?
shareNot really an issue in these theme park days. The more the merrier!
shareDon’t forget Amazing Spider-Man 2 as well. But I guess the context is different this time, especially if they’re featuring the Sinister Six.
After seven previous Spider-Man movies spanning three different continuities, and the introduction of the multiverse, six villains is acceptable, this time.
Let's Scooby Doo this bitch!
shareThe problem with Spider-Man 3 isn't that it had 3 villains. It's that the villains weren't connected storywise. Then again my favorite Spider-Man villain Venom was blown to smithereens after only 15 minutes of screentime because Raimi hated him and didn't want to make him the main villain of the next movie.
shareAlthough it's too early to say for sure, they may not have that problem as other Doc Ock it appears like the villains are there as obstacles and aren't getting lengthy backstories or time focusing on their motivations or character.
shareNo Spiderman 3 was bad because they brought in sandman and rewrote the entire series around him. Suddenly he kills uncle ben and Peter goes emo. The best parts of the film were the symbiote and venom bits but sandman should have just been a thug like he is in the comics, not all bad guys need a giant backstory which makes them sympathetic or connects them to the hero.
shareEmo Spiderman is the greatest thing to happen to film, lolz
