After David Kim's 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter's laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter's digital footprints before she disappears forever.

That's because the directors of Missing were also the film editors on Searching. Anyway, that being said, other than showing the entire film from the point of view of a laptop computer and the people who use it, and a main character who suddenly vanishes, Missing has a completely different plot that's a little more complicated than even Searching's plot was. And yeah, Searching was a pretty good suspense thriller, too.

Good sequel. Love how they even reference the first film at the beginning and all those streaming murder/crime shows we have been getting these past few years! Nice touch 👌🏾

Unfriended (2014) was first of this style that i know of
