This is why the rest of the world thinks America is stupid...
Because we pump out garbage like this to every theater in the country while quality stuff like "The Wrestler" gets a limited release.

I'm not an American, but I enjoyed this movie. How on God's green Earth is a "movie" supposed to represent a country's stupidity? I thought it was made for entertainment purposes.
sharewtf this was a comedy if you want to see a movie like the wrestler you dont go any where near fired up
I don't like dramatic and fatalistic movies ('The Wrestler' according to IMDb). If you gave me 10.000 Euro and i still don't watch a drama focused movie. That's one of my rules, that no matter the mood it doesn't seem i'm ever inclined to break. It's drama enough for me that great actors and actresses are just one genere away for me.
I don't think America is stupid, but when it came to entertaiment and sport ... let's just say that i have more fun watching a spot on a wall for a hour rather than something like wrestling or baseball.
The majority of America IS stupid. To many dumb forks who dosen't know anything about the world.
Asia, Africa, Europe and so on, americans dosen't know *beep* about those places funny tho they know their local macdonalds and KFC menu better it just shows you how the average american is.
Where I come from (outside the US) the standard is that you can talk about 2-3 other languages than your mother language, how is it with americans? You may talk spanish and that's it.. Stupid people.
I could give you lots and lots of the ignorance on the american people, just google and youtube it.
I see americans as some of the dumbest people in the world, in genereal. You got every possible oppertunity to educate yourself and still so many people know so little about the world.
To the moron who wrote something about
"we cant be dumb, with all the good music comming for the US"
Would you consider Britney Spears as intelligent? I sure wouldn't.
Tell me one thing I as a european can be jalous about?
It should be something that touches you as a citizen so please no dumbass comments like "United States are the greates" and so on. A little more subjectivity please.
Sorry for my flaws if there is any, english isn't my first og second language.
Honey bunch,
1. The majority of the world in general is stupid. Stupid people are everywhere, and I do believe you have proven this point for me.
2. Speaking other languages does not mean you can speak them well. I can slap together Spanish, French, Czech, German, and Dutch with a translator and 30 minutes. Doesn't mean I can do it well. But if you're counting your excuse for English as one of your "languages," then I have you - and your average - beat.
3. Speaking other languages does not make you intelligent. You've proven this for me, as well.
4. I could give you lots of examples of the ignorance of your country. What was that again? You failed to disclose. But just Google or Youtube it. I'm sure you'll find something, unless you're from a country nobody cares about.
5. Would you consider using single, cliched examples to be compelling evidence? I sure wouldn't.
As a European, your family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances can be jealous that we don't have to be in the same country as you. Nor will I be in the same IMDb thread. So stick that in your back pocket.
the standard is that you can talk about 2-3 other languages than your mother language, how is it with americans? You may talk spanish and that's it.. Stupid people. How does that make them stupid? Lazy or ignorant sure.
I could give you lots and lots of the ignorance on the american people, just google and youtube it.There are plenty of a youtube videos of people all over the world being stupid.
You got every possible oppertunity to educate yourself and still so many people know so little about the world. In defense of a lot of the uneducated people, and Education costs money (thousands of dollars a year, hell some of them even get ridiculously high 40 - 80 thousand dollars a year, feel free to convert that to any currency you wish). Some people arnt available for grants and even with financial aid you're still going to spend 10+ years of your life in debt.
To the moron who wrote something aboutHonestly, i didnt pay much attention to this post while reading through the topic but still, you seem to be twisting the posters words way way to much.
"we cant be dumb, with all the good music comming for the US
I dont think anyone would, but its unfair to hold the troubles of ONE entertainer on the rest of the country, or even just the entertainment field.
Would you consider Britney Spears as intelligent? I sure wouldn't.
WTF is that supposed to mean? Because you like dramas you can't also like light-hearted comedies? That makes no sense. I LOVED The Wrestler. Amazing movie. But I also laughed my ass off through pretty much this whole movie. You can appreciate good films and still enjoy a fun comedy from time to time.
sharewhoever said that every country has it's share of crap films is dead right - it's just that those ones we're not likely to ever see. France makes a bunch of terrible films, but the ones we wind up seeing over here are the ones good enough to cross over; likewise, i'm betting not too many french people are sitting at home in Paris right now watching Fired Up over The Wrestler, although i could be wrong.
either way, SOMEone should be held accountable for stealing so much of my life with Fired Up. i remember sending Margo Harshman (the I'm Just Sayin' girl) a script several years ago for her to consider acting in...i know, i was young and stupid, and the script sucked, and i deserved never hearing from her again. but even THAT one was better than this. i'm almost insulted she picked the Fired Up script instead.
cheers

sonetimes stupid = hillarity, i found this film a side splitter, ppl like seeing others act less than themselves.
and as for other countries having stupid movies, us aussies have a very flat, ppl acting stupid film called the castle ("Dale dug a hole" most famous quote alongside "that's goin straight to the pool room" just to show u just how flat it was), ppl still watch it cos it makes them feel better about themselves.
All countries make movies based on who they can get to pay their cash to go see them as soon as they come out. A fair amount of us see these movies on cable or rent it based on the DVD cover art. Kids 13-18 are the reason most movies are like this one. They are the ones spending money (even if its your's, dear parents). So why wouldn't the studio make more of these inexpensive to produce movies in the hopes that one will hit a big number at the box office for 8 to 10 weeks. Well written, funny scripts with a dramatic storyline are tough to find and since they usually require more expensive actors (star box office draw) the entire production will cost more. If it hits those huge numbers they studio hopes for and wins awards they pat themselves on the back from making quality movies. All the while using the profits to fund Fired Up 2- The Tigers Make State!...
I enjoy some of these movies, but wont spend the cash to go see one. DVD's and cable are the only reasons I ever get to see them. I actually liked most of this movie ( I'm just sayin).
And for what's their name who spent an hour using his dictionary to write that anti-American rant. I for one am glad your snobish, closed minded, overly self-important ass lives someplace else.
1. The Wrestler was nominated for Oscars and made more than this.
2. Fired Up is a whole different type of thing for a different audience. You can't do some kind of ethnic cleansing but with teenagers and comedy-watchers. The Wrestler is good, but 90-something% of the time, if you ask me whether I went to laugh or cry, I will choose laugh, especially in this economy and all the drama we (Americans) already have in our lives.

Maybe people are into laughing it up instead of being so serious? I'm glad Mickey is making a comeback, but.....
as the old saying goes, save the drama for your mama (or when your woman forces you to watch it)
-=1000 travel books are not equal to 1 real trip=-
I think this movie is hilarious but not in the way that they intended it to be.

This movie is no one's enemy. The real problem is Disaster Movie and stuff, cuz I don't know many people that saw Fired Up. It opened at the box office at rank #9 in February during recession. Meet the Spartans beat Rambo and Juno (and Cloverfield, by the way, but that sucked too, but was better than M.t.S.) because people are retarded like that.
"Oh, my God. Bear is driving! How can that be?!"
