Fun, but a little too Archer-esque

I love the comic book style of the animation, it does have a great cast of actors, the action sequences are fun, and the whole concept of Agent Elvis is pretty cool...

However, the whole show felt a little too Archer-esque (like for instance Elvis being a complete douche much like Sterling Archer), some of the humor felt weird, and it does feel cliched at times.

Still a fun show to watch though.

I haven't watched.Archer, American animations isn't really my thing. The animation itself is well done and the idea and concept is cool, also liked the mystery arc but I think it has pacing issues. Too much happens in a 25 minute episode imo. I think they need to spread out and put more weight in the fights and revelations so it feels like it means something.

I agree with you on the pacing. Wish the episodes were 20 minutes and cut out some of the other stuff that happened. The Mystery Arc was interesting, not gonna lie. If the show gets renewed for a second season, maybe it'll grow it's own beard instead of you know feeling similar to Archer.

I hope so too. Sometimes shows take a bit of time to gain its legs. If a season 2 pushes through, I hope they fix these issues. Also Cece is unbearable.

reply

Yeah, not gonna lie. She had her funny moments, but she outstayed her welcome later on in the season. Kaitlin Olson's voice work was good. It's just the way she was written that gets on my nerves.

Yeah the voice isn't the issue, it's the character. Btw how old does she look to you? She looks about 25-28 to me in 1968. So why does she refer to Elvis as a grandpa when he would only be 5-8 years older than her? And how the hell does She think Goulet is her father when he would've only been 7-10 years older than her?

reply

I have no idea.
