interesting analysis , it does feel abit where Bond films became even more prestigious/pompous (not that they wernt previously, especially the previous 2) but the high calibre director (Craig related and no doubt desperate for a hit film) , oscar winner Bardem (theyd been previous oscar winners like Walken but not in such a high class production as this), full national treasure multi oscar winning Dench elevated to leading lady status, highly respected and now box office behemoth (and previous Avenger/Steed 2.0) Ralph Fiennes as new M , the beautiful cinematography from soon to be oscar winning Deakins (no doubt got the Blade Runner 2 gig based on the spectacular Blade Runner-esque high rise fight in SF) and as you say the curious deconstruction/analysation of the myth (Bonds past/psyche, London, Scotland) but still a celebration for 50th (DB5, introduction of Q/MP/new M, the 2012 Olympics Queen gag) all coming to a crescendo with the incredible $1.1b elevating Bond into superhero league box office (was 2nd only to Avengers that year, even bigger than even Dark Knight Rises. to which SF owed Nolans trilogy a great deal)
of course it all kind of backfired on the follow up..
