Hubie Halloween defies all odds and is an enjoyable cinematic experience

Full thoughts here. Also my first ever movie review! To summarize though, the film isn't stellar by any measure, but ill be damned if it isn't enjoyable! It's a fun Halloween flick that I will definitely be rewatching each October. The jokes are corny but work and it can be watched with the entire family. Sandlers voice is annoying and subtitles are a must. If you can make it past that I think you will enjoy the film. Just be sure to temper your expectations. It's a fun 100 minutes, not a masterpiece.

I thought it was entertaining enough to watch.

100%. I feel like Sandler movies come with a certain connotation these days. Hoping this one breaks the mold of mockery

it's a good film i'll be watching at halloween time in the future i hope.

It was a decent one time watch

It was alright. I was definitely watching the clock half way through it.

It aimed very low but had a degree of charm and one was kept awake by the cameos and wondering what size of pay checks and other inducements Netflix enticed the likes of Steve Buscemi and Ray Liotta with.

I agree. It's alright.

It's got a good support cast and there are some pretty funny moments. Sandler is basically just being Sandler but if you're not from the generation that grew up watching Waterboy, etc then even his character isn't going to seem too grating.

I like how it's just a fun film set during Halloween so you can watch and enjoy the Halloween spirit rather than it being a scare / slasher horror that you would watch to get terrified by at Halloween...

I also get the impression that this is one of those films who's reputation is going to grow and it may well land up as something of a (semi-) cult Halloween viewing experience as the years pass.
