Surprisingly,an all-white cast

I am not complaining, but i am surprised, because gender-swapping was becoming a rule in modern superhero movies. So thats a breath of fresh air. But of course we'll have to see if they will act well.

Pascal is a PoC and totally wrong for the role.

reply

seeing the Mandalorian again will be cool.

reply

That's hilarious, I'm Italian and darker than him. POC is just a different way of saying color person, just as ridiculous.

reply

He isn’t white. Reed Richards is white.

That simple enough for you?

reply

I appreciate the kind words but I'm not 100% fit. Need to cut back on the pasta.

reply

Definitely. It’s going to your brains.

reply

At least I got one, you're talking out your ass. Can smell the shit from here. 👍🏽

reply

I don't like the casting that much, but Marvel has done a good job with the actors that they've picked, so hopefully they got this one right too. I was actually hoping for Adam Driver or Matt Smith as Reed and Margot Robbie as Sue , but you get what you get I suppose. I think Pedro Pascal is a terrific actor just a bad choice for this

reply

Is it all that surprising? The MCU has more or less stayed true to the comics in casting their heroes. Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Starlord, Quicksilver, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and now all four members of the Fantastic Four are all white, as in the comics. Black Panther and War Machine are black, again, as in the comics. Why did you expect the Fantastic Four to be a departure from this?

As an aside, I think they chose very well for the Thing and the Human Torch. As cousin Richie in The Bear, Ebon Moss-Bachrach displayed a deft touch at mixing rage with pathos, a key to Ben Grimm, and Joseph Quinn was perhaps the best character in the recent season of Stranger Things. I'm completely unfamiliar with Vanessa Kirby, but she looks the part for Sue Storm. And what needs to be said about Pedro Pascal? He always delivers.

reply

Thats true about the faithful casting for the heroes, but we have also to remember that the casting was made in the late 00s/early 10s when wokeism was less present in Hollywood. They often gender-swapped or race-swapped other characters though. But i should have wrote that it was becoming a rule in modern Hollywood more than modern superhero movies.

reply

The real question I always have is why does it matter? If they had cast a black actor as Mr. Fantastic, or made Sue and Johnny Korean, would it change anything?

reply

I'm more surprised they went with older actors for Reed, Ben, and Sue. I expected everyone to look teenagerish. They even got a 30 year old guy for Johnny. I like it that way, mind you. Just thought they'd go younger with them. Also hoping Namor or Mole Man will be the villain.

reply

You can be sure all the men will be weak, stupid idiots while Sue does all their thinking for them.

reply

The Fantastic Four are TOO WHITE.
