during a musical interlude on the space ship, the three women had seven clothing changes in about three minutes. At least Brie Larson wore a tight white tank top, as she did in Kong: Skull Island.

"The Marvels received some of the worst reviews of any Marvel film to date. I entered into it cautiously, thinking maybe some of this was just fanboy hyperbole. But no, The Marvels is every bit as bad as it is being said. I have never had to give any MCU film less than two stars before but I would have to say that The Marvels emerges as the MCU’s equivalent of Batman & Robin (1997)."

I think that distinction goes to Love and Thunder. This one is bad but that one was just bafflingly terrible.

I first saw it in 3-D. The 3-D conversion process was possibly the worst I'd ever seen. In one scene, two of the Marvel women were badly blurred while the other was in focus. I saw that scene in a 2-D version and all three were sharp and clear. Didn't anyone preview this before releasing it that way?

Read the full Moria review and you will understand the hate. The writer is very thorough in describing all the problems with it. I think the director wanted the movie to be more of a comedy, like Deadpool 2. But audiences were not expecting that, and they didn't do a good job of mixing the two genres. Ryan Reynolds' constant quips did a good job of telling Deadpool 2 audiences that it was a comedy.

It's the worst MCU movie thus far. But yet I wouldn't go that far when making a comparison. It's just aggressively mediocre. It felt like one of those painfully lackluster superhero movies from the 2000s like Elektra or Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer or X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The fact that so much money was spent while making it is more embarrassing than the actual movie.
