Yes. Halloween Ends will probably be average to shit. They'll wait a few years until everyone's forgotten and reboot the thing again. The thing is will Jamie Lee Curtis be too fucking old? Surely Myers will be able to cope with her zimmer frame?

Yep. They'll claim this trilogy of films "never happened" and the NEW 2028 movie is the "TRUE direct sequel" to John Carpenter's original story.

I am so confused on timelines, sequels and reboots. Halloween Ends will actually be Halloween 4, since it was the follow up to Halloween Kills, which is Halloween 3.

Horror fans have really seemed to come around to it the last several years, which is very cool. However, the mainstream audience would have the same reaction that audiences did at the the time of H3's release if a sequel related to it were to be made today.

I was invited to join this Halloween/ Michael Myers Fan Club page on facebook by a friend. I accepted, which was a mistake. Anyhow, the fact that Michael wasn't in it is still very much a reason that people hate it. Nothing more, just that there was no Michael Myers. I had an argument with a guy just last night about this. I said there was no validity in hating the movie JUST because he wasn't in it. He kept arguing his point saying that was enough.

Years ago (maybe 2008-2009ish) there were rumors about a standalone remake of Halloween 3 that would've just been called Season of the Witch.

Wouldn't mind an even more elderly Michael and Laurie playing a cat and mouse game in a care home they happen to both end up in, should make for a good dark comedy Halloween film. It would also be interesting to see if advanced old age would weaken Michael at all.

the next timeline will take place after the Resurrection movie. Already been confirmed...its the reason Busta Rhymes has gotten back into shape.
