Not really. Slasher films bore me a little.

Watching a 10 year old getting killed is different to watching an adult playing a teenager getting killed.

idk i was watching the toxic avenger and they bad guys in that film run over a kids head. i found it very refreshing and funny to see a kid get killed in a movie. was very unexpected

Because that would say something about the character of Michael Myers. Is he pure evil or not.
And kids/animals dying typically makes more of an impact.

Child murderers are on a different level. People tend to remember kids being killed in movies, as it's still quite rare. The Blob and Mimic comes to mind.

Coincidentally, John Carpenter kills off a little girl in Assault on Precint 13. That was quite the shocker. I think we take violence in media far enough without killing off kids. Also, he did kill the tricker or treater kid off screen.
