Jumped the Shark...
So a bunch of preadolescent kids can fight the God Butcher's shadow army. That was very silly. Maybe comic books really are for kids, but if they keep this up these movies will be making a lot less money.

shareyeah that was stupid, basically Thor can grant thor powers to anyone.
shareI haven't seen the movie yet, but this is kind of the big problem with all superhero comics and now movies. They just keep making the characters more and more powerful till it becomes absurd and it's impossible to tell compelling stories any longer.
sharepretty much, these movies are just stupid fun. although this one was just stupid. I dont know what they are trying to set up or if they are just making movies because they make a profit.
shareExactly, if he could give other people that power there was numerous times Thor would have done that. Made no sense.
shareI'm just gonna add to that the iron man suits etc are springing from like his glasses, like when he's falling from a high place or something and it's just fricken ridiculous.
carry on..
I really liked the idea of the scene. It just wasn't executed well. They could have strung together some reasons for why it was possible in this dimension and that's not a power he can usually deploy. Played some "power of children's innocence" card for fighting evil. Whatever. Used it to bolster Eternity's child in the end. All the ideas were there, they just didn't polish any of it.
