I didn’t think Waititi could make Thor even worse than Ragnarok, but he actually went and did it. At least Ragnarok had some decent action scenes, but this one didn’t have any. And Waititi once again wasted a potentially great villain. 1/10.
They were both equally bad but for polar opposite reasons. Eternals was slow and took it self too seriously. Thor 4 was on crack and didn’t take itself seriously enough.
I would rather have my silly superhero popcorn entertainment to be not serious at all than taking itself too seriously. So for me, The Eternals is totally worse. By a lot.
I'm okay if it's something like Deadpool or Guardians of the Galaxy where there's some gravitas and drama mixed in with the silly bits. I might not even mind a 100% silly superhero movie as long as the jokes were funny. Thor 4 had no gravitas and shit jokes.
True. That's why it's terrible. I agree it's bad, just not the worst... 'cause Eternals exists.
While Thor 4 was cringe, I still enjoy some parts of it. On the other hand, I couldn't even finish Eternals. I turned it off when they went singing and dancing Bollywood style. I was like wtf I'm doing now, may as well do the dishes instead, looks more fun that this.
I wasn't crazy fond of it. But I am also one that actually enjoyed The Dark World so what do I know. I just like a more serious story for Thor. I don't mind there being comedy, but I didn't like bumbling idiot Thor. And with the stories given to us, they are such epic stories that it's a shame they are hidden or not given justice in favor of dumb comedy. And I LOVE dumb comedy....just not in my Thor. the destruction of Asgard is a serious and sad subject. If it was JUST the whole Hulk story line, I would be fine with a lighter story. But Ragnarok is always spoken of being this dark, deep, end of world thing and so I was disappointed. Same goes with Love and Thunder. We had 3 really cool plots we could have explored and they were so week so that there could be stupid repeat jokes it's just a shame. Jane with Cancer, Gorr the Butcher and the idea of gods and their place in the world. Especially when we spend how many movies trying to say Thor is NOT a God. Same with the Eternals. It was just a lot.
I'm not saying I didn't blindly enjoy the movie when I saw it but I have no interest in seeing it any soon and am really disappointed in the route they went with it. There really needed to be more of a balance. This film was all over the place.
I loved Dark World and agree about your other points. L&T was different movie plots taped together and overlayed with cheesy, second-grade level humor. Embarrassing all around.
