Rob Zombie territory
Flanagan has done a complete header right into Rob Zombie territory by constantly casting his wife in nearly every single thing he does. No matter if she's right for the part or not, there she is. Very tiresome.

sharenot to be annoying, but she wasn't in bly manor, dr sleep or before i wake.
& her part in ouija was really small as i recall. & she wasn't a major player in gerald's game either, really, was she? barely in oculus too.
so it's not like she's the lead in everything, dominating all of his stuff.
she was the lead in hush, and basically co-lead in hill house and this.
i saw someone started a thread here complaining about her performance. i thought she was absolutely fine, and i have no problem with any of the actors in the show. i just wish they hadn't all talked so bloody much, but that's another thing entirely.
She was most certainly in Bly Manor.
sharemy mistake, you're right...must have been a very small role though, no? i was going by letterboxd, and they don't have her listed in the cast, so i'm guessing it must have been one episode only. perhaps she was at the rehearsal dinner that's the wraparound for the series?
shareshe was the ghost viola
sharei watched it last year, and tbh almost all the details of it have fallen out of my head. 'ghost viola' doesn't mean much to me now, i guess. but thanks anyway!
i'm a big, big flanagan fan, but this is by far my least favourite of anything he's done. i might even go as far as to say i kinda hated it by the end.
She only showed up in one episode, the flashback one.
shareYes, it was just one episode. My favorite episode, actually.
shareIt's not really a fair criticism to say that a particular actor keeps popping up in programs that you would like to see. And ultimately, that's what you're saying here. lol
shareI watch those programs because I am interested in the subject matter, not because I am particularly interested in Mike Flanagan's wife. She just so happens to be in almost everything he does, so there's not a whole lot I can do about the casting.
shareUm yes...that's what you already said, and that's what I also said.
Again, it's not really a fair criticism to say that a particular actor keeps popping up in programs that you would like to see.
I really like low budget action films. But I'm not gonna get mad that Scott Adkins is in so many of them.
