anyone else think "worst movie ever" is a little harsh?

for me, Transformers 2 is a solid 6/10

a lot of people reeeeeeeeaaaaaaally hate this movie, with great passion, many declared it the worst movie of not only the year but the decade as well, it is called a particular abomination that is the lowest form of scum, now you can hate any movie you want, i'm not saying you can't hate it but, in all honesty, i think a lot of the hate is a little bit... harsh.

i mean what are the problems of Transformers 2? well the acting isn't great, the humour is extremely annoying whether it be from the parents or whatever Michael sticks a pair of balls to, it's way too long and the script is rather rushed and thoughtless and the characters all feel forced.

but what are some of its good points?

well it looks really nice in my opinion, i like the behaviour of the camera and the way it moves, Optimus is still a badass, the CGI is pretty great, the transformers all have awesome designs, the fight scenes can be very entertaining, my favourite being the final fight between Prime and the Fallen and on a technical level it does everything just fine.

- just my opinion.

what do you think? do you think it's great and under rated? do you feel how i feel? or do you flat out hate it, whatever you think, and if you want to, do tell, i'm curious to see what people think, i mean i know the common conception is it's horrible, but the amount of people who genuinely love it is fascinating, so i'm really curious, what do you think?

I actually watched it for the first time today and that's what led me here to see if anyone else thinks it's terrible. Turns out its regarded as a bad film, so Im good.

Theres a few things I could list that I didnt like about it but not in the habit of bashing a movie on its message boards, tends to be too troublesome.

I liked it. As a 10 Year old in 2009. Still understood it wasn't a good movie. But I enjoyed it.
Re-watched it now. And I can say with surety that this is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Great effects, that's all its got. Everything else is awful. The Script especially, who the fck wrote that piece of *beep*

I agree, there are so many movies out there that are far more worse than this. I didn't think this movie was that bad. Sure the acting is bad and the sexual humor is unnessassary but I enjoyed it. The action scenes are great and the CGI wasn't bad. If I were to name some of the worst movies of the decade, they would be:

Battlefield Earth
Dragonball Evolution
Date Movie
Freddy Got Fingered
Epic Movie
Disaster Movie
All About Steve
Catwoman
Son of The Mask
One Missed Call
Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2
The Fog
The Love Guru
Daredevil

You say your favourite part of the movie is the fight between prime and fallen which even michael bay said he didn't like. No wonder you didn't find this film that bad.

Personally, I'm not really a believer in labeling something as "worst ever" be it a movie, a book, a comic, or a television show because chances are you'll always find something much worse.

That being said I view Transformers 2 as the weakest of the Transformers movies thus far and in my opinion is Michael Bay's worst film, it just has too much going on and the strain to create a 2 hour movie shows a lot in places, but...Worst movie ever? You can say its weak, poor, and bad I don't think too many would argue that it doesn't have its issues but worst ever? Please. I've seen movies that are far worse, and no I'm not just talking about whatever Uwe Boll has been churning out as of late or some DTV crap I'm referring to some legitimate mainstream titles with just as much money and creative talent invested into them as this - The latest Fantastic Four, Jonah Hex, The Last Airbender, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Winter's Tale are a few examples with X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which in my book was the absolute worst of 2009 and the most criminally deserving film that should've swept all the Razzies for that year. I don't care how shorter it is in comparison to Transformers 2 it does not deliver on any level and there is nothing to be enjoyed with it, even as an empty headed summer popcorn film, and the action and visual effects are just the worst. It's so bad every further installment in the X-Men series has ignored it from continuity.
