Hollywood can't help themselves. Take an IP and sell it, sell it, market it some more. How long until we get the obligatory WB Dune shows, and then Disney+ special productions?
A couple of movies were enough.
Put an IP on it and make it lame and meandering.

this is actually nothing new, i grew up in the 2000's and even then the decline was felt. even then everyone played video games.
