I guess this is proof that there are drag kids.
I've been told it doesn't exist.
sharePushed by their parents who want attention.
shareYou beat me to it. ;D
shareI wouldn't say pushed, but more like parents allowing their kids to pursue it. Drag is no different than burlesque in terms of sexuality.
shareYes, and every red-blooded American father dreams their son will aspire to be Gypsy Rose Lee. ;D
shareI'm not saying they want it. I'm saying they do nothing about it because people will say they're not being supportive of their child.
shareThe most successful children I have observed, (grades, sports, manners, friends, et al) have parents who behave like parents. Those parents provide guidance and discipline, not support of the latest trends and they care nothing for what other enabling parents may think.
From the examples I know, true support means creating boundaries.
Unfortunately we live in a time where parents will be called homophobic if they didn't allow their child to do it even if they were completely against it.
shareAnd falling off a 1,000 foot cliff is no different than falling off a 1,000 foot building in terms of death. This type of argument is not as effective as you think it is.
shareI just meant that a kid doing burlesque would be frowned upon but for some reason there are people who are fine with drag kids even though the sexuality is essentially the same. There's a double standard.
shareTotally agree and it's disgusting.
shareI agree in the sense that this reminds me of JonBenet Ramsey. I think it's best if kids spend their time in school and playing with their friends.
But, I knew a boy in school who loved playing around in women's clothes and wearing a wig. That's what he liked and that's what he chose. Maybe it's possible these kids have this drag performing stuff in their blood. To each his own. Drag is a reputable form of entertainment which has existed throughout history. So yeah, JonBenet Ramsey.
