"What is wrong with you people 12 years is not an ok age difference. You don't have many commonalities culturaly as different things happened during your childhood. And to be quite honest you have to do that reverse math."
@italianpride17 - what a stupid thing to say. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 12 year age difference, regardless of whether the woman is younger or older. It's all about the compatibility of the couple, not their age. Who cares what differences you had during your childhood? That just makes the relationship even more interesting, because you can share your past as well as your future.
I speak from experience. My mother is 7 years older than her husband. They are very happy. My father is 12 years older than his wife. They, also, are very happy. My sister is 14 years younger than her husband, and I am 13 years younger than mine. And yes, we are all happy, too. Any cultural or background differences only serve to enhance, not interfere with, the relationships.
"When she was 16 he was 4. That is borderline pedophilia."
Another stupid comment. Yes, if she was 16 and he was 4 of course it's paedophilia, but they are both consenting adults, well over the age of 18. As are all the members of my family currently in HAPPY relationships.
There's nothing wrong with us. We're all in happy, constructive marriages. What is wrong with YOU? (Apart from your narrow mind.)
