Most annoying movie ever

This movie could have been a nine- or even ten-pointer had it not been
for the "main" character Manuela Velasco (Àngela Vidal) who literally
wrecked every scene she was in (i.e basically all of them). As the time
went by both me and my girlfriend grew more and more pissed over this
hysterical loudmouthed piece of nothing who just destroyed the
atmosphere and both our ears. Just don't know to whom we should file
our deepest complaints - the writer, director, Angela or all of them?

I love her character! i think it was a great character and her acting is without a doubt an amazing one! i can accept that u guys are saying she was annoying but a bad actress?? nah uh

reply

Her acting might have been good but that was a very irritating character. I did not care one bit for that character and was hoping throughout the film that she gets infected so that she shuts up.

reply

I was thinking the same thing... Indeed, she's a good actress, but was her character created as an irritating one or, is it the way she portrayed the character that made me feel nothing else but the desire to see her dead, the sooner the better.

reply

Aww, she wasn't that bad. I liked her and the character of Angela, I thought she reacted as anyone would in the same dreaded situation. Funny, some people say the same thing about Quarantine, the US version. Jennifer Carpenter played Angela in that version, I liked her as well, they were very realistic acting characters IMHO.

"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit' me!" Hudson in Aliens.

reply

But this is a movie, not real life. How would you know someone's reaction as this is fiction and could never happen in real life? It was very annoying to hear that constant screaming of her and the directors should have toned down the ongoing hysteria in order to give the spectator a more relaxed feeling.

reply

Yeah I'm sure the director of this horror film wanted you to feel relaxed throughout.

ANNOYING AS HELL

reply

I felt the same. Just watched Rec and by the end I found myself actually saying aloud, "Just shut up! Quit crying and do something!" She annoyed the hell out of me. I don't think it was the actual actress or her acting I had a problem with, it was the character and either the way she was written or the way she had been interpreted by the actress. Either way, I wanted her to stop whining.

What? No. We can't stop here. This is bat country.

reply

Angela was annoying, but still a good movie.

Have you seen 'Quarantine'? The Angela in that movie outdoes this one times 10000.

Saito: I bought the airline. It seemed neater.

I thought the really jumpy camera was more annoying than Angela.

It was giving me a headache. Blair Witch didn´t.

I turned this film off after about 15 minutes - why do some film makers think that lots of shouting and lots of VERY jerky hand held camera footage makes for an exciting film!

The simple reason because it makes the film feel more authentic. Have you ever watched the news or seen 'intense' situations caught on camera in real life? There is always lots of shouting and/or jerky camera movements because people panick.

If the director didn't want to go down the authentic route then they would have used normal filming techniques but the way they did it gave the film its claustraphobic effect IMO

I have and it's nothing like this. Go search for some tsunami footage shot by REAL people when it happened, the camera doesn't jump around, nobody's screaming like a madman and asking for someone to tell them what's happening all the effing time. This movie is a poor attempt on making a movie and anyone caught defending is a retard.

Yea since there is no camera jerkiness or people panicking in these clips.......oh wait no there is.

You're sp right dude I just wanna say I've was in downtown Manhattan during 9-11 and people were screaming and crying and going nuts especially when the buildings fell and if I had a camera I'm pretty sure it would be shaking like crazy when the building fell so yea it is like real life how could u expect someone not to be loud annoying when there life is on the line and they have no idea what's happening or what to do so I thought she was great it kinda reminded me of what some of my girlfriends would act like lol

reply

This movie does not come across as realistic in any shape or form. What are you on?

reply

That's where u lost it. It was brilliant thereafter. I felt the same way at first, but turned out to be a marvelous one.

OP - "Just don't know to whom we should file

I wouldn't file it with Angela, as she's an accomplished mixed marshal artist. In a tapas bar, I once heard a rumor about a critic who agreed to be handsomely compensated (in addition to payment of medical bills) in exchange for allowing Manuela Velasco (Angela) to work-out on him for 2 minutes. Apparently, it was a deal he regretted making.

I was pretty annoyed by the constant yelling by all the actors in the movie, in general. There was a point in the beginning of the film where the shouting was so constant and obnoxious that I just about turned it off. I think they were trying to create realism, but it definitely detracted from my enjoyment of the film.

reply

This, absolutely. I don't mind shouting that much, but from the very beginning everyone was just yelling, even from the moment they enter the apartment everyone's just yelling over each other. I really loved the tension throughout the movie but I have to admit that every time Angela or any of the other characters opened their mouths, I just wanted to mute the damn thing. It wouldn't have been an issue if it had only happened during a few stressful scenes, but the problem was that it was so constant and unrelenting.

reply

Exactly my thoughts. Moreover, you say they were trying to create realism but this is a fiction movie about things that could never happen in real life, so who can actually know someone's reaction? For every screaming Angela there is a bold Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley or Laurie Strode. So, realism is very relative in movies i think. The directors missed the point and should have taken the audience more into account.

reply

Man, this is supposed to be a realistic horror movie, what the hell do you expect from a Barbie-like reporter, being trapped in a building full of Possesed Zombies with no one else but his camera-man?
to be silent and not freaking out?
If you want a Heroe that kills all the zombies go watch Zombieland.
