Too many woke deaf movies
This and Sound of Metal and Children of a Lesser God are more PC pandering to the radical left of the hearing-impaired. There are too many deaf movies!

shareTotally disagree. 3 of them in my entire lifetime, I know of none prior to that. So, it's quite possible there have been three movies - oh wait I just thought of one - the Helen Keller movie with Patty Duke. I suppose you could also add "Tommy" by The Who - the story of the deaf, dumb and blind kid. I can't think of any others in the history of cinema. That doesn't seem like too many movies about deaf people to me.
shareI agree! I have been totally smitten by the gorgeous, vivacious Marlee Matlin since the first time I ever saw her in anything.
shareWhat you talking about? it is not a woke movie.
The structure of the film is actually more reminiscent of old Hollywood than postmodern.
Woke films don't bother me that much but I do see a pattern forming. I will predict it now, in the future, all films will have to feature at least one gay person, one deaf person, one Hispanic person, and a black person or else they will not get passed the MPAA.
Let's be honest about it, American films and TV is slowly becoming more about a check list rather than art.
